Let's "get philosophical"
What it is like to live in this dropin center
-learning to practice n refine what we preach
-it being okay to make mistakes, tho no one will tell you that
-unfairness abounding vut things equalling out n getting resolved n being fair at the end of the day
-being happy to be alive, in 1 piece, not in physical pain, not alone as in connected to God or others, physically safe, not mentally angsty, and free as in not bound by anything or imprisoned anywhere. Remibding oneself n others that there are worse things than being here n better things than crappy "riches."
-inevitably stepping on toes/eggshells just by existing n inevitably getting blamed for it
-choosing your battles
-being forced to open your mind and other times to close it. But mostly to open it.
-it being our mess or our problem rather than my,your, his, her, their or some of our mess/problem
-a lot of apologizing n a lot of withholding apologies cuz you know you did nothing wrong or even anything to do with the incident at hand at all
-wallowing in some small way in others' physical filth n then getting treated like it's your own filth
-remembering n reminding others n yourself that the only way one size fits all in terms of how to treat people is in terms of everyone being sentient beings wanting to be treated as such
-remembering the difference between what to stay away from n who to stay away from
-balancing staying away from drama n staying aware of it
-the neighbors hating us sometimes indiscriminately but they don't bother those who don't bother them
-when it comes to some things, reacting to or responding to or being or thinking about everything in moderation including moderation
-an interest in psychology gives you an advantage
