May 16, 2025-- The dogs leave their lovely legacy at the dropin

 Yesterday a woman stayed here for a bit with her 2 dogs who were really cute n had adorable names n she's a really nice friendly kind woman but her dogs kinda stank. The staff or someone moved a few of our bins including mine in order to make a space for the dogs. My bin ended up underneath 2 others' bins that were heavy n overflowing with stuff. Whenever I needed to access my bin I had to heave the top one off n find a place to put it on a table or the floor n there was never enough space, then the second bin... Oh boy. I nearly dislocated my spine lifting it n trying to lift it higher onto another pile of bins in order to access mine. For 5 seconds I thought it was gonna crash thru the front window which is like that of a storefront... Full-wall floor to ceiling window... n that I was gonna get impaled with a shard of glass. Luckily that didnt happen n instead the bin crashed semi-loudly onto someone elses stuff which luckily wasnt damaged n luckily that person wasnt there at the time. I told myself I will never try to lift shit beyond my capabilities again, pressure from others be damned.

The next morning the lady n her dogs were gone n our bins were back in the other spot like before. Where the dogs were.

And the very intense smell of dog piss was there too. All over all the bins in the vicinity.

At first I thought some asshole had deliberately pissed in a cup n poured it into my bin. But nope. All the bins smelled like that on the outside but everything was dry n smelled fine inside my bin. Then we all realized it was the floor. The dog piss had dried on the floor n despite maintenance supposedly mopping this morning, I got in the shower n when I got out I went straight to the staff n said they might wanna mop again if they didnt already again. They said theyll take care of it.

5 minutes later Im sitting at my usual table n at the next table someone spills a container of water. Then a girl goes n gets a mop. I told er I hoped it wasnt the mop they used to mop up that first bit of dog piss this morning n that if it is they disinfected it.

We all concluded that we shall see... Or rather, smell it... In a bit.
